Magyar Posta is issuing a stamp to celebrate the 2017 festive season. Similarly to last year, the postage stamp for sending good wishes by post is self-adhesive and has no value indication, bearing the inscription “Domestic”. It is released in standard and special editions. The standard edition is in sheets of fifty stamps, while the special edition is a miniature sheet of five stamps embellished with gold foil. The festive stamp features an angel, while a Christmas tree appears on the first day cover and the special postmark shows the motif of a bell, all in the same ornamental style. The stamp was designed by the graphic artist Boglárka Nádi and was produced by Pátria Nyomda Zrt. The new issue will be available at first day post offices and Filaposta in Hungary from 3 November, and may also be ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store.

90th stamp day
Magyar Posta is celebrating the largest domestic festival for stamp collectors, Stamp Day, which this year is being held in the Stefania Palace in Budapest between 3 and 5 November 2017, by issuing a pair of special stamps with different denominations and a souvenir sheet with a surcharge. The new issues were designed by the graphic artist Barnabás Baticz and produced by ANY Security Printing Company. The two stamps of different denominations, the souvenir sheet and the first day covers will be available at first day post offices and Filaposta in Hungary from 3 November 2017, but may also be purchased from Magyar Posta’s online store. Magyar Posta devotes the HUF 300 surcharge on each souvenir sheet to supporting organised stamp collecting in Hungary.

very own stamp: Magyar posta is 150 years old
Magyar Posta is issuing a promotional definitive stamp with no value indication called Very Own Stamp: Magyar Posta is 150 Years Old with a jubilee logo made for this special anniversary, which will be released inscribed Domestic with no value indication on 9 October 2017. The new issue was produced by the printing company Pénzjegynyomda based on the designs of graphic artists Imre Benedek and Nikolett Garamszegi. The stamp will be on sale in first day post offices and at Filaposta in Hungary from the date of issue, but may also be purchased from Magyar Posta’s online store.

MAGDA SZABÓ WAS BORN 100 YEARS AGO
Magyar Posta is issuing a commemorative stamp in honour of the centenary of the birth of the writer Magda Szabó (1917-2007). 200,000 copies of the stamp designed by the graphic artist Attila Elekes were produced by ANY Security Printing Company and will be available at first day post offices and Filaposta in Hungary from 5 October 2017, but may also be ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store.

HUNGARIAN SAINTS AND BLESSEDS V. SPECIAL EDITION AND STAMP SET
In addition to the already issued standard edition, the miniature sheet Hungarian Saints and Blesseds V, presenting Saint Margaret, Saint Kinga and the Blessed Yolanda, is also being released on 5 October 217 in a special numbered edition decorated with gold foil and embossing, and as a numbered limited edition black print. The standard edition, the special edition and the black print are also available in an exclusive set, which – apart from the aesthetic experience – is special as the black print is only sold as part of the set. Flórián Albert won the Ballon d’Or 50 years ago
Magyar Posta is issuing a commemorative stamp to mark the joyful event when Flórián Albert (1941-2011) was awarded the Ballon d’Or 50 years ago. SYNAGOGUES IN HUNGARY V
Magyar Posta continues its series of stamps presenting the synagogues of Hungary in 2017. The set of two stamps shows the altar and details of the interior of the synagogues in Győr and Pécs, while typical ornamental features appear on the first day cover. The special set of two stamps was designed by the graphic artist Péter Nagy and produced by the printing company ANY Security Printing Company. In 2017 Magyar Posta is releasing a new type of Your Own Stamp called the Very Own Stamp. The A5 size sheet of stamps with a renewed format contains 6 stamps with no value indication marked Domestic. The issue was designed by the graphic artist Imre Benedek and was produced by ANY Security Printing Company. SAINT LADISLAUS MEMORIAL YEAR
Magyar Posta is issuing a definitive stamp with a label to mark the Saint Ladislaus Memorial Year. The emblem of the Memorial Year can be seen on the label attached to the definitive stamp Your Own Message Stamp IV – Domestic 35. The stamp was designed by Imre Benedek and the label attached to it by Tamás Gábor, and 175,000 copies were produced by the printing company Pénzjegynyomda. FOR YOUTH 2017: JÁNOS ARANY WAS BORN 200 YEARS AGO
Magyar Posta is continuing its decades-long tradition of issuing stamps with a surcharge in order to support youth stamp collecting again in 2017. The theme this year is the bicentenary of the birth of János Arany, which is linked with the János Arany Memorial Year. Magyar Posta devotes the amount of the surcharge on two stamps of the four-stamp miniature sheet, a total of HUF 150, to supporting youth stamp collecting. 30,000 copies of the miniature sheet designed by the graphic artist Gergő Gilicze were produced by ANY Security Printing Company and will be available at first day post offices and Filaposta in Hungary from 10 July, but may also be ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store.

FAUNA OF HUNGARY: OWLS
In its latest stamp denomination release Magyar Posta pursues a theme which is considered to be a classical one among collectors: from among the protected birds living in Hungary five owl species are presented. The stamps have been produced by the ANY Biztonsági Nyomda Nyrt. based on the designs created by graphic artist Kálmán Székely. The stamp set which has been published in 200,000 copies and the stamp block which has been published in 60,000 copies will be available from July 3 at first day post offices and Filaposta, but may also be ordered from Magyar Posta’s online store.

MARIA THERESA WAS BORN 300 YEARS AGO
Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia and Ukraine are commemorating the tercentenary of the birth of Maria Theresa by issuing a joint commemorative stamp block. The stamp was designed by the Slovenian artist Svetlana Milijaševič and 60,000 copies were produced by ANY Security Printing Company. EUROPA2017: CASTLES
Each year the members of the Association of European Postal Operators (PostEurop) issue stamps on a common theme to emphasise both the importance of philately and the cooperation of the postal operators. EASTER 2017
In line with its tradition, Magyar Posta is celebrating Easter, the largest feast of Christianity, by issuing a postage stamp. The stamp and the special envelope reveal the artwork - and a detail of the artwork - entitled Christ's sepulchral shroud, created by artist and textile artist Erzsébet Szekeres. The philatelic publications were produced on the basis of designs created by graphic artist László Tóth as self-adhesive stamps at the Pátria Nyomda Zrt. CHINESE HOROSCOPE: 2017 THE YEAR OF THE ROOSTER
According to the Chinese zodiac, the period between 28 January 2017 and 15 February 2018 is the Year of the Rooster, which Magyar Posta is celebrating by issuing a miniature sheet. The main motif of the two stamps is the rooster. Embossing and the use of gold foil make the composition special.The miniature sheet was designed by graphic artist Tibor Zoltán Petényi and 70000 sheets were produced by ANY Security Printing Company.
