If the electronic contact details of the addressee are available, with the end of postal customs clearance, Magyar Posta will
notify the addressee in e-mail or text message, based on the certificate of release for free circulation, about the possibility
of online payment regarding customs duty, VAT and postal customs agent service fee. The addressee can pay the charges online
by credit card within 48 hours of the notification.*
Once the payment has been made, Magyar Posta will attempt personal delivery of registered postal items, unregistered items
by letterbox, and if the unregistered item can not be delivered via letterbox due to its dimensions, the recipient will be
notified of the possibility of collecting the item at the post office.
In case the electronic contact information of the recipient is not available for the online payment notification, or the recipient
does not use the online payment option, Magyar Posta collects the charges during delivery. Posta will attempt to deliver the
item to the place indicated in the address by personal delivery, and in case of unregistered items larger than 324x229x24
mm, the addressee will be notified of the possibility of collecting the item at post office.
After unsuccessful delivery or notification, the items may be collected at post office for 15 working days, after which they
will be returned to sender.
