MEASURES AT POST OFFICES

Protective equipment for preventing the spread of the coronavirus is provided to postal employees who are more at risk due to their work. It is a priority for the management of Magyar Posta Zrt. to protect it employees and to continuously provide postal services, therefore it decided on several measures over the weekend.

16 March 2020

All postal employees who have direct contact with customers received face masks and latex gloves on Monday morning. Protecting the health and safety of its employees is of primary importance to Magyar Posta, so it has ordered the distribution and use of protective equipment in addition to the use of hand sanitisers and increased cleaning. The masks are provided to delivery personnel, postal administrators and parcel delivery staff. The replacement of the allocated protective equipment will be continuous.

In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, we have introduced new rules for waiting from 16 March, similar to pharmacies. Accordingly, only as many customers may stay in the customer area at a time as there are service counters, other customers waiting are kindly asked to wait in front of the entrance, at the recommended distance of approx. 1 metre. The new waiting policy not only serves the health and safety of postal employees, but also that of customers, therefore we ask for the understanding of our customers.

The delivery of mail items and postal payments, such as pensions and family benefits, are continuous. If further changes are required to the postal services in the light of the emergency situation, we will provide our customers with timely information.
